Gatomania

Please tell me it's totally uncool to ogle at (or worse, take photos of) gates. In one of my (not-so-frequent) morning walks, I told myself I'd take photos of them someday. Early morning today even with severe lack of sleep, I did.

I want to paint our gate coral or yellow, by the way.

Lemon Stripes

outfit
outfit
{thrifted top, Forever 21 skirt and Parisian shoes}

I found this striped top 2 weeks ago during my now-not-so-frequent thrift excursions. It's lemon-y color is so summer-y, makes me want to have another impulse trip to the beach and sip that refreshing kalamansi-and-lemongrass concoction from Sumilon or some watermelon shake.

Wore this to dinner at a food chain last Good Friday. A former officemate was also there so we shared a table. He asked me if I missed my previous job, and without a blink I said no. Told him I was already so distant and burned out while I was still there so leaving it wasn't difficult at all. I may be earning less now but I feel a lot less stressed.

On our way home, Ed and I stopped by at those stalls that sell pirated videos (don't shoot!). He bought I Am Number Four and 3 Idiots. The latter, which is an Indian movie, is heartwarming and so much fun! Meanwhile, I bought Fringe Season 1. I honestly didn't have an idea what this series is about until I popped it into the DVD player. And now I'm seriously addicted! Ah, I love sci-fi. Not finding Gossip Girl Season 3 was a blessing in disguise.

I've got so many insecurities now that I've gained so much weight. Then I'm kind of worried because I've got big travels planned for the 3rd quarter of the year which I really, really have to save up for. But, to quote 3 Idiots, aal izz well!

Lemony stripes and positivity,

Orange Pink Purple Sky

Ed and I were on our way to the grocery around 1pm today when we looked up and realized the sky is so blue and has nice clumps of white, fluffy clouds. There was one formation that made me wonder if it's a spider or a rib.

I was a bit talkative that time because I really liked the book I just finished reading that morning, F. Sionil Jose's Gagamba (The Spider Man). When I fall in love with something, I seem to talk about it endlessly. I am never talkative that's why I am always aware when I'm being not myself when I do that.

Me: I already finished Gagamba! You should read it, too! (translation: Stop reading frickin' Bob Ong and read F. Sionil Jose.)
Ed: No way.
Me: Why did I start reading him just now?
Ed: You like to imagine that's why you like him.
Me: You don't even have to imagine because he describes so well! His descriptions are simple and spot on! You could feel that his characters are based on an actual person. He's awesome.
Ed: Bob Ong's more awesome.

Hopeless. But well, he's sort of kidding me anyway.

We had lunch at Metro Ayala's food court. They were the only open department store today, I think. We shared tables because there were a lot of last minute shoppers, too. We shared it with a young couple with a baby and a mother and son.

Ed: You know what's the story in this table? There were lovers then they got married and had a baby boy. Then as years passed, there were misunderstandings so the husband walked out from all of it so the wife was left with his son. She's feeding him now.
Me: Great. I wouldn't speak English to my child and then feed him puso (steamed rice wrapped in coconut leaves). Maybe when he's grown-up or something, he could...
Ed: Why? There's nothing wrong with it! If I have a son now I'd tell him "Stop playing around and eat this fcuking puso!"

I later on realized what an elitist remark it was and might be forever sorry if I utter it again. So I will eat puso this weekend and leave you with gorgeous colors of sunset.

Who Needs a Hug?

We all do!

I need a hug
I need a hug
I need a hug
thrifted shirt, Forever 21 skirt, Primadonna flats

Fact: I don't like cats. I'm not nice to them and they only stare at me. But my late mother adored them. We have 3 adopted stray cats at home because of her. When she passed away last year, I felt I have to change my attitude towards felines. I currently have two cat shirts. And, maybe I'll just stick to cats on my shirts.

Hug and you shall be hugged back,

To Battle They Come in Hoards

thrifted top and skirt, Parisian shoes

01 - I think it's only the 3rd time I've worn this chariot and floral printed skirt. The 1st time I wore it as a tube dress and the next with Chucks. The 4th time I might wear it as a poncho haha.

02 - A dear friend is having issues with matters of the heart. When everything should be special and celebrated, she's not getting the "proper" support she needs. I hate that some people are making a fun out of her situation... she isn't as prepared as she thought she is, she's confused and holding back an emotion that should have been shown. She's never been in this situation before and things could've been better. It should be better. It will.

03 - Newsflashes I am currently giddy about: I was taking an internet break from reading American Gods when I read somewhere (probably a tweet from Neil Gaiman himself?) that it will be adapted into a movie. Yayness! And theeeen, my friends tweeted that Incubus will be in Manila this July! OMGFGHJFOMGFHDKGJKFHOMG!!! I watched their concert (bought tickets at the last minute, as in from the venue's ticket counter already) 3 years ago and it was soooooo much fun! It was my first ever major live concert so it became my barometer of concert fun-ness. I enjoyed Rihanna's too but I hate open grounds. I really, lilly hope this'll push through. It'll be a birthday gift to self!

Sacked

Graphic shirt from SM, thrifted overalls, Parisian heels

I found this very Jpop-esque overalls yesterday and I immediately washed it so I could wear it today. I like that it has a hoodie and a big pocket. I honestly am drawn to pockets and all things sack-like, assymetrical and confusing. I got this skirt which confused me for a bit because I wondered where and how you could put your legs through. And then there's this sort of vest (I don't actually know what it is!) that has a tailored hole at the front where you can put your arm through. I'll wear it one of these days.
