Hoodie - Isis; Skirt - thrifted; Shorts - thrifted; Shoes - Parisian Jr.

I didn't care it the patterns and prints didn't go well together or if they were properly styled, I just wanted to wear something that isn't usually me. I am your quintessential plain dresser so last Wednesday, I wanted to confuse my officemates with this (change of) outfit. I went to work wearing this thrifted Emanuel Ungaro (it still had a tag when I bought it!) skirt then took it off midday, revealing this rather schoolboy-looking pair of shorts.

Media Noche later! Thou shall not weigh more than thy refrigerator! :D

Mana Davao At Night

My friend, Jini, dragged me to this furniture shop in our hometown just to see them Christmas lights. The shop is closed by night but they turn these lights on for the madlang people to marvel at for the season. My reaction went from "What the ffff?!" to "Okay, it's fine." There was a crowd too and it's by the road so it was pretty sticky (given that prior to going there, we went to the San Pedro-City Hall area which was stickier and more crowded). Ah, holiday spirit and I'm one of the masa.

This was my view thousands of miles above terra on my way to Davao for a short holiday vacation. I was kinda hoping I'd see flying superhumans playing hide-and-seek or more preferably, ice cream cakes and spaghetti materializing in those colossal clouds. Realizing that such imaginings are impossible, my mind ventured into more familiar and usual daydream: I am in a spaceship hovering over a distant planet's terrain. Those clumps of clouds looked like fields, oceans and towering castles of alien kingdoms.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!!!

1-2 hours : 3 minutes. That's the ratio of wait time to the actual ride. The queue was like 10 anacondas long, coiled and sweaty. Okay, I don't know how long an anaconda is or if they even sweat but you get the point. It was fun, though!

Hmm, I'm thinking of letting my hair grow long and having it permed again.

P.S. I just dabbed (no, applied) isopropyl alcohol on my face!!! Effing alcohol sitting beside the toner! =))

4x the fun

I'm excited to get my hands on this plastic camera Ed found in an outdoorsy store in Ayala Cebu. It's called Quad-Cam, a four-lensed plastic camera much like Lomo's Actionsampler. I don't think it gives a "lomo effect", dreamy and deeply saturared, but for 1/4 of a real Actionsampler's price, I don't have a very high expectation.

I've never loaded film to a camera until today so it's pretty thrilling. I also have to be very careful because the camera's delicate with all its plastic and somewhat loose construction. Okay, I'll go out now and test this four-eyed mownster.

P.S. Have you watched Tron? The effects were incredible! Awesomeness, I tell you.

2 days worth

I'm not someone you can describe as well-put together, especially when I'm feeling under the weather. I have not been feeling well for 4 days already, thus the "non-well-put togetherness" of the photodump below. The following photos are worth two days of outfit shots.

Shirt - SM dept. store; Skirt - thrifted; Shoes - thrifted; Socks - Bench; Bag - thrifted

I initially wore jeans with these but I got really uncomfortable with it plus I'm already feverish which added to the uncomfy factor so I went back home and changed. I kept everything except the said pants and changed it to this skirt. I felt a bit stupid for turning out with this look but I've run out of foot socks and I need to wear some for this pair of lace-ups. I felt like I was heading to (high) school instead of work. But I didn't care anymore, I was very comfortable with the whole thing I didn't mind if people thought I look questionable.

I was just happy I still had a skirt to wear on this day. Tissues for my colds and Tootsie Roll Pops for my sweet tooth.

Hello yellow again.

Was it only last week when I wore something yellow? Yesterday I did and the day before that (Tuesday). I actually bought these sunshine-colored items (1 skirt and 2 blouses) at the same time from my favorite thrift store, which I've been actually missing because I have not been visiting for weeks already.

Ed and I dropped by the Converse sale at SM yesterday (it was the 1st day) because he wanted to own a pair of Chucks, or Purcells perhaps. He's a Nike consumer so he's pretty excited with the possibility of a voila moment. Unfortunately, said moment didn't occur because of the massive crowd having their own scour, too and the style he likes wouldn't arrive until today. Therefore, he left empty-handed. He just purchased giveaways for his supervisors.

In other news, Hubert Webb has been acquitted. We saw him sentenced, we saw him released. You know what I realized when he said 15 years was "robbed" from him? I was like "Ohmygads, am I already old? 15 years already?" I remember I was in high school when we watched his sentencing. Yes, my classmates and I spent the entire day at the canteen to witness the pretty boy being read of his supposed doom because he did something pretty gruesome. And yes, it was pretty dragging as the court reader, uhm, read the decision. Can you still remember how long and thick it was? It was hooouuuursssss! I think our classes were cancelled, and man, the canteen was cramped with university people (high school and college students, profs, canteen attendants, sanitation personnels, etc.)! Us pubescent girls could only sigh "Sayang, gwapo pa naman sya..." then exclaim "Did he REALLY do it? He's too cute to commit murder!"

Someone (not sure if it was Ed) joked the other day, "Mag-aartista na yan!" =))

Food Diary 001

Many times I've read that if one wants to keep his/her weight off and be more encouraged to eat healthier, a person must keep a food diary. I've never struggled with weight this much because I was really slim before. The idea of having my own 'food diary' (although may not be incredibly detailed and with religious daily posts) when I was chowing down tekkamaki. Ah, those tuna rolls had the light bulb on me. Neat.

Today I Ate: tekkamaki (tuna rolls), wakame tofu jiro (miso soup w/ tofu and seaweed), gyoza, mushroom and carrot sidings (from the boyfriend's katsudon), and yogurt ice cream topped with caramel and nuts

The Kitchen: Japengo and Yogorino (both can be found in Robinson's Cybergate along Fuente Circle)

Imperial Palace has the widest selection of buffet I've ever been to! They have Korean, Japanese, Filipino, Italian, and other sorts of sumptuous dishes! The best part for me was "rediscovering" Japanese food and somewhat being caught staring/ogling with amazement at their selections of fruits and desserts! I swear I wanted to spend the entire day at their buffet restaurant! (Yes, I ended every sentence with exclamation points.)

Too bad I didn't bring my camera, I would've taken photos of the place and food like crazy. I'll wait for ze officemates' uploads then.
