Behind-the-scener

I tagged along with some amateur photographers/friends for their mini-photo shoot at Fort San Pedro. I had a different purpose in mind - to shoot their behind-the-scenes and take macro shots, of course. When their models, Jen and Virmey, were changing, they were their own MUA and stylist. I was just looking at them thinking I should help them out but I couldn't because I don't even know how to properly put make-up on my own face much less on others and I don't have a good eye for fashion styling. I realized I should learn how to so I could be useful during these kinds of events.

Eff yeah pink

I think I've never worn this much pink in my entire life. I mean, this kind of pink. Anyway, pink isn't my color. It wasn't my intention to wear the jacket today but I had to wear a cover-up for my sleeveless dress because I didn't want to show my arms for the world to see.

My mood prior to lunch (around the time these photos were taken) was not bright and blushing as the color of my jacket. I've been having very low serotonin levels these past days. Maybe it's hormonal, maybe I'm just a head case but either way, it's crazy! I was crying like an hour prior these photos were taken! It was full emo mode, I tell you. But hey, I was thinking of my mother and how crappy I've been feeling on my job and all...

One person I'm really thankful of (hey it's Thanksgiving in the other side of the world!) is Ed. He just lightened up my mood. Sometimes he complains of how neurotic I can get but he always tries to understand. That's why I'm smiling in the photos already! Plus I ate fish tacos and spaghetti a la gambas at Mooon's Ayala. Happiness.

I'm wearing this black cactus shirt because we had a shoot where everyone must wear black. It's an office thing. This skirt I got from a Christmas bazaar at IT Park last year. You notice that it ain't ruffled all the way to the back, right? It really confuses me haha. I decided to wear it this way because I think it looks less heinous. If I put the ruffled part at the back, I'd look like a chicken or peacock. I could also wear it half-plain/half-ruffled both at the front and back...

I had a brief morning walk earlier today. It's been my sort-of habit to go out of the house on Monday mornings (usually 5:00am) and take photos of flowers, plants, etc. Instead of jogging I do this to clear my head and be inspired by nature (though I think I ought to jog/run more really!). I've observed I'm gearing towards macro photography, I want to get closer to subjects as much as possible. My G11 makes me pretty happy with its macro and zoom capabilities but I want more details! Ah, I watch too much NatGeo and Discovery.

Probably I also ought to befriend Ed's DSLR. Bulky cameras such as DSLRs aren't my thing but if they can satisfy my I-want-a-detailed-shot-of-an-ant's-head needs, then I'll happily pick one up and shoot.

I'm thinking of running a series here, but I'll still have to think of how to properly put it up and run/maintain it. I can be very lazy and my 'photographic eye' isn't impressive but I'm determined to learn and at least be good at this craft.

The skirt I'm wearing here isn't the one I had on my previous post. They just have the same color! :D

I just came from a 3-day, 11-hour performance management training and I am utterly exhausted. Our exam was a 3-hour nerve-wracking, paranoia-inducing, anemia-causing test of navigation. I'm saying test of navigation because it was more of testing how good you are in finding the answers in the manual instead of anwering from what you learned! I abhor it with a passion. The concepts and techniques I learned though are priceless.

I'm such a crappy dresser, no? I just threw this whole thing on last night because I was running late. And I looked like I have hydrocephalus in my 1st photo.

I'm taking the graveyard shift this week due to some training. When I came in at 11:00pm last night, I got dizzy and wanted to vomit. I've been in the morning shift for a very looong time so body clock really got screwed up.

I really have a bad posture and get awkward and conscious when I take my photos even when nobody's looking. Because of these, my bulges get emphasized. And I swear my body facing the camera isn't my best angle - I would look pudgy (and especially that I don't know how to style my clothes to work for my body and not scream "Look, Roan's fat!"). Unflattering.

Then I make this face when I get conscious - pursed lips and squinted eyes. I look pissed or incredibly constipated. My skirt is like crumpled paper that couldn't be saved.

Of babies and PacMan

We always joke about babies being more expensive than rubber but when that little bundle of happiness and love grows in one's womb and eventually comes out to the world, you would no longer think of the expense it has caused and about to cause. Babies are sources of joy that ought to be celebrated!

I went to Aumarie's baby shower at her boarding house yesterday. She's one of our agents who's currently on her ninth month of preggercy (uhm, pregnancy). There were a lot of joking, eating, photo taking, and OHMYGOD!-ing over Antonio Margarito's cuts and bruises (my first time to watch a PacMan fight in its entirety and though I'm doubtful of his capacity as a congressman, the patriotic side of me cheers for him!).

Ed and I went to Robinson's Cybergate for some camera accessories hunting after. He wasn't able to find a hood that fits his lens so he just bought a screen protector. I bought Entrepreneur magazine.

And the second photo is so jologs, right? But I don't care; I'll do it again. Haha.

Ed is still a noob with his spunky camera so photos aren't that kaboomers yet. Told him to get me an outfit shot but gave me portraits and half-body shots. Why do you do that??? Gaaaaah.

Aaand, I bought shoes! I didn't realize it until I was already at the cashier counter that they're Parisian Junior.

Sing-a-long

Last Saturday I joined Ed and his supervisors' videoke galore at Red Box Ayala. My intention was to join them only for lunch then I'd head home immediately because I wasn't feeling social that day (I'm sometimes mental like that). But when I got there I was like "They have a small TV screen but the sound system is really great and I guess I wanna sing so I'll stay!" I like it that it's also sort of a break from the usual dark, malagkit and claustrophobia-inducing videoke-han we usually go to! Red Box also has Php299/head eat-all-you-can promo from 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm with, of course, room/videoke use. Sulit na rin!

We (the girls) had fun singing Roselle Nava, Ella May Saison, Regine Velasquez, Jaya and Andrew E. songs a.k.a. pissing off the boys! :))

PS. I look preggers (especially in the 4th photo) and it's as if I didn't stand up at all the entire time! Rar.

PPS. I must lose weight.
